Privacy policy
Effective 3 November 2026. Applies to the Treadwin app for iPhone and to this website.
The short version. Your walks, profile and progress live on your iPhone. There is no Treadwin account. If you allow it, Treadwin saves your walks to Apple Health and reads your body weight from it; that Health data never leaves your device through us, is never used for advertising and is never shared. Two things can leave your phone: your subscription status, which Apple and RevenueCat handle under a random identifier, and any feedback you choose to send us from the app. Version 1 of the app contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Who we are
Treadwin is made by Josep Salvat, an independent developer based in Barcelona, Spain (“we”, “us”), who is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything in this policy, write to hello@treadwin.com.
What the app stores
Treadwin keeps the information it needs in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, apart from the few details listed under feedback if you choose to send some.
| Information | Why the app keeps it |
|---|---|
| Your body weight and height | To estimate calories with the ACSM walking equation and steps from your stride length |
| Your walks: date, duration, speed, incline, distance, and the calories, elevation and steps calculated from them | To show your history, totals, streak and weekly goal |
| Your goals, chosen challenges and their progress, and the programs you run | To move you along summits and trails and show what comes next |
| Settings such as units, reminder times and whether to include steps in Apple Health | To remember how you set the app up |
| Whether your subscription is active | To unlock the app |
The home screen and Lock Screen widgets and the Live Activity read a copy of the figures they show from storage that is shared only between Treadwin and its widgets on the same iPhone (Apple’s App Group mechanism). Deleting the app deletes all of it.
The app does not ask for, and cannot access, your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. It does not connect to your treadmill.
Apple Health
Treadwin works with Apple Health only if you give it permission, and you can change that at any time.
- What it writes. Each walk you log or finish is saved as an Indoor Walk workout with its duration, distance, active energy and elevation gained, plus estimated steps if Include steps is on in Settings. When you edit a walk, Treadwin updates the workout it wrote instead of adding another, so the same walk is never recorded twice.
- What it reads. Your body weight, only if you allow it, to keep calorie estimates accurate. Treadwin reads nothing else from Apple Health.
- How it is used. Data from Apple Health is used only to provide Treadwin’s features. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared with third parties, never sent to our servers (there are none) and never stored in iCloud by Treadwin.
- Turning it off. In the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps (under Privacy), then Treadwin, and switch off any permission. Workouts already saved stay in Apple Health until you delete them there.
Reminders and Live Activities
If you allow notifications, Treadwin schedules walking reminders on your iPhone at the times you choose. They are local notifications: no server is involved and nothing about them leaves your device. During a guided program, the timer appears as a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, also generated on your iPhone.
Your subscription
Treadwin is unlocked with an auto-renewable subscription bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details, your name or your Apple Account.
To check whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives the App Store purchase records of this app (which plan, when it started, trials, renewals, cancellations and refunds, and the receipt Apple issues) under an anonymous app user ID created by the app, together with technical details that come with any request, such as the device model, iOS and app version, the App Store country and the IP address. It receives no health data and no walk data. The legal basis is the performance of your subscription contract.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking
Version 1 of Treadwin contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no attribution SDK. It shows no ads, does not access your device’s advertising identifier, does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not sell or share personal information. If a future version adds anything of this kind, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
Feedback you send from the app
Settings has a Send feedback form. Nothing is sent unless you press Send. We then receive your message, the contact details you add if you want a reply, your app version, iOS version, device type, language and region setting, and whether your subscription is active. It does not include your walks, your weight or height, or anything from Apple Health, so please keep health details out of your message. It reaches us through a private channel on Discord, which can see your IP address when it arrives. We use it only to answer you and to improve the app, keep it as long as needed to do that, and delete it on request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and improving the app.
Emails you send us
If you write to hello@treadwin.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and to improve the app, keep it as long as needed to do that, and delete it on request. We never add you to a mailing list. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
This website
treadwin.com is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no third-party fonts or scripts and stores nothing in your browser. The hosting provider, Netlify, processes the technical information that comes with any web request, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and protect the service, and may keep it in short-lived server logs.
Service providers and transfers

How long we keep data
- Everything Treadwin stores on your iPhone stays there until you delete it or the app.
- Workouts saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.
- Subscription records are kept by RevenueCat for as long as we use the service, because purchase records must be kept for accounting.
- Feedback and emails are kept as long as needed to answer and follow up, and deleted on request.
Your rights and how to delete
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws, you have the right to know what personal data we process, to access, correct, delete and export it, to object to processing based on legitimate interest and to withdraw consent. With Treadwin you can do most of it yourself:
- See and correct your walks, weight, height and settings in the app.
- Delete from your iPhone by deleting the app.
- Delete from Apple Health in the Health app: Browse, then Activity, then Workouts, then Show All Data.
- Stop Apple Health access in the Health app, under Apps.
- Cancel the subscription in iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions.
Because subscription records carry no name or email, we cannot look them up by who you are. If you want your subscription record deleted, write to us with the date of purchase and we will do our best to find and erase it. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).
Children
Treadwin is made for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If Treadwin starts collecting anything not described here, we will update this policy before that version of the app is released. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
