Terms of use
Effective 3 November 2026. Applies to the Treadwin app for iPhone and to this website.
The short version. Treadwin helps you log treadmill and walking pad walks and estimate what they add up to. It needs a Treadwin Pro subscription, bought through the App Store, which renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before renewal. The annual plan starts with 3 days free. Calories, steps and distances are estimates, not medical advice: check with a doctor before starting a new exercise program and use your treadmill safely.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms are an agreement between you and Josep Salvat, Barcelona, Spain (“we”, “us”), and apply to the Treadwin app for iPhone (“the app”), to Treadwin Pro and to this website. By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is intended for adults.
2. Licence
Your licence to use the app is granted under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). These terms add to the Apple EULA; if the two conflict, the Apple EULA prevails. The app and everything in it, including its name, logo, design, challenge artwork and code, remain ours.
3. What the app does
Treadwin records walks you enter by hand or complete with a guided program, estimates calories with the ACSM walking equation, estimates distance, elevation and steps, can save walks to Apple Health, and shows your progress along virtual summits and trails. It does not connect to, control or monitor your treadmill. The numbers it shows depend on what you enter, so their accuracy depends on it too.
4. Health and safety
- Estimates, not medical advice. Calories, steps, distance and elevation are estimates calculated from standard formulas and the values you provide. They are for general fitness information only. Treadwin is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
- Talk to a doctor first before starting a new exercise program, walking on a steep incline or increasing your activity, especially if you are pregnant, have a heart, lung, joint or other health condition, or have not exercised for a while.
- Listen to your body. Stop immediately and seek medical help if you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness, unusual shortness of breath or pain. Programs such as 12-3-30 and Incline Ladder are demanding; you can always walk slower, lower the incline or stop.
- Use your treadmill safely. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, use the safety key or clip, and do not handle your phone in a way that distracts you while the belt is moving. Audio cues and the Live Activity are there so you do not have to.
5. Treadwin Pro subscription
- What it is. The app’s features are unlocked with Treadwin Pro, an auto-renewable subscription. In the United States it is offered yearly at $34.90 with a 3-day free trial, or weekly at$7.99 with no free trial. The plans, prices and any trial available to you are shown in the app before you subscribe, in your local currency, and may differ by country.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details.
- Free trial. If you start the annual plan’s free trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, you are charged the annual price when it ends. A free trial is offered once per Apple Account.
- Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel at any time in iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Treadwin Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple’s policies and your statutory rights.
- Price changes. If the price of your plan changes, Apple tells you beforehand and, where the law or Apple’s rules require it, asks for your consent before you are charged the new price.
- Restoring. On a new iPhone with the same Apple Account, use Restore Purchases in the app.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app in breach of the law or of these terms;
- copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the app, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it;
- work around the subscription or any technical protection in the app;
- use the app, its share cards or its content to mislead others, for example by presenting estimates as medical measurements.
7. Your data
How the app stores your walks and profile on your iPhone, what it saves to Apple Health, and the little that leaves your phone, is described in the privacy policy.
8. Availability and changes
We may release updates, change, add or remove features and challenges, and some updates may require a newer version of iOS. If we ever stop offering Treadwin Pro, we will not renew subscriptions after that date. We may stop distributing the app altogether; if we do, your walks stay on your iPhone and in Apple Health.
9. No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the accuracy of estimates, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. This does not affect any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including lost data or injury from exercise you choose to do, and our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Treadwin Pro in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Apple
The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is material, we will point it out in the app or on this site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that date means you accept the updated terms.
